Presentation of PCOF

Parti Communiste des Ouvriers de France (Workers' Communist Party of France) was founded in 1979 by fusion of several ultra-leftist organizations. It follows the ideology of the Albanian Labour Party, which has ruled Albania 1945-1991. Although it means that all the leftist parties not sharing the same ideology are considered "revisionist" and therefore no co-operation with them should be possible, this party did evolve its attitudes somewhat in the 21st century and became closer to other French leftist groups, joining forces with those grouped in the Front de Gauche coalition during the 2010 regional elections and eventually becoming the full member of the Front de Gauche in 2011.

Flag of PCOF

The party flag is red, with proportions 1:1 and charged with large party logo in white. The logo consists of hammer, sickle and star, with the initials "PCOF" inscribed below. The orientation of the top point of the star is about halfway between 12 o'clock and 1 o'clock directions and its bottom points are placed near the top end of the sickle blade, so as to make the impression that the white arc at their left-hand side is actually the continuation of the blade.
A good view of the flags carried at a rally of the Front de Gauche, which took place at Billy-Montigny (Pas-de-Calais), 3 June 2012, is available at the party website. Prior to that, the flags were brought to the rally of the Front de Gauche in Paris, 18 March 2003 (photo), and to the joint meeting of Die Linke (Germany) and the Front de Gauche, which took place in Strasbourg, 4 April 2012 (photo, photo).
